About Kate Del Rosario, CDMP, CSSYB
I start with the process, not the technology.
Hi! I'm Kate. I work in operations, which means I am usually less interested in shiny software and much more interested in why a useful business process still takes eight steps.
Why I build this way.
I kept encountering workflows that technically worked, but depended on spreadsheets, manual calculations, repeated document creation, and one person knowing the unwritten rules.
I started turning those workflows into software.
What I enjoy most is the part before the code: understanding how the process works, spotting what is unnecessarily difficult, structuring the logic, and deciding what the tool actually needs to do.
Complexity belongs in the system — not in the user’s head.
Questions I like
The app usually starts here.
These questions are often more useful than asking someone what features they want.
Why does this take eight steps?
Why are we calculating this manually?
Why does only one person know how this spreadsheet works?
What would make this impossible to mess up?
I don’t start with
“What technology should we use?”
